Paras coffee is a café in great location close to South Shaanxi road station in a bright space with mostly local crowd. Order your coffee on the first floor and head straight upstairs to the bright and airy second floor with ample of seating. The very good wifi and plenty of sockets make it a good place to get some work done as long as you do not mind a certain level of noise and people taking selfies around you. The decent americano goes for 28 (hot) / 34 (iced). The smaller single origins are – for Shanghai – reasonably priced at 34 yuan. At the time of writing they were offering four single origins: beans from Ethiopia, Kenya, Panama and Honduras. The service is very friendly and helpful – something which you cannot take granted in Shanghai.
Food options include brunch staples such as egg dishes, salads etc. as well as baked goods. They also have another tiny pop up coffee bar nearby at the intersection of Xinle rd, and Xiangyang road. A perfect place to buy a take away coffee to enjoy in the opposite Xiangyang park (if the weather allows).
