The Long Museum West Bund is the second art museum opened by Chinese billionaire and art collector Liu Yiqian and his wife Wang Wei in Shanghai. It is located on the western shore of huangpu river, in an impressive former industrial shipyard venue with 16,000 square meters of exhibition space in industrial style. The other museum is located in Pudong.
The museum opened in 2014 and is showing rotating exhibitions of Chinese and international contemporary art as well as classical and ancient pieces. Check out the current exhibitions and opening time on the long museum website before you go. On the first tuesday of every month, entry is free (excluding special exhibitions).
Do not miss to take a walk along the rive side before or after a visit to the museum. there is also a small but pricey cafe next door.
Yuz museum makes a good alternative or additional stop in case you are craving for more art.
