The small Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) located in a beautiful six-storey renovated art deco building just off the bund is showing changing exhibitions of Chinese as well as international contemporary art since 2010. It also has established the biannual Hugo Boss asian art award focusing on ermerging asian artists in 2013. works of the finalists can be seen in the museum prior to the award.

Check the current exhibition before you go as the experience will largely depend on what is being shown.

Exhibitions are presented in the gallery space on the floors 2-5. on the top floor, there is a small cafe (though there are for sure nicer places to have coffee in Shanghai) and a terrace with view on pudong.

The museum is definitely worth a look while you are in the area.
